Todd Whatley is owner of The Elder Law Practice of H. Todd Whatley, PLLC with offices in Springdale, Bentonville and Fort Smith with three attorneys and eight staff. Mr. Whatley’s first career was in Physical Therapy doing home health and nursing home Physical Therapy. Mr. Whatley graduated from the Bowen School of Law in Little Rock in 1998. He opened his practice in 1999 while still doing PT part-time with only a very part-time assistant, his wife.
His entire PT career had been working with elderly clients. He continued his work with the elderly by limiting his practice to just Elder Law. He became the second Certified Elder Law Attorney in Arkansas in 2005. His is now one of only four Certified Elder Law Attorneys in the state of Arkansas. He is also on the Board of Directors for the National Elder Law Foundation which is the governing board for Certified Elder Law Attorneys throughout the United States. He is also on the Alzheimer’s Board for Arkansas, the Village House Adult Day care board and the Circle of Life Hospice Foundation board.
His office has supervised over 3,000 Medicaid applications with the state of Arkansas. Many of those cases required some sort of appeal or court action to seek the approval of those applications. His office has completed over 15,000 estate plans. His passion is helping the elderly and their families though some of the toughest times of their lives to plan for and protect their estates with aggressive representation and upholding the duty of doing strictly what is in the client’s best interest.
